2.    E-Construction Onboarding for New Projects

For ACC, projects should be created by the design project manager and be handed off to the construction project manager/engineer at the beginning of the construction phase. If at the construction phase there has not been a project created yet, you can still follow this step-by-step guide to create it in ACC. For any members that need to be added/removed, have them contact the PM/PE to be added.

For HeadLight, new projects should be requested through HeadLight’s project intake form here. To add/remove members to a project, send an email to support@headlight.com with your name, email address, role, and project that you want to be added to. Be sure to CC the PM/PE on the email request.

For HaulHub, new projects in EDOT should be requested through the project creation form here. You should also remind the prime Contractor on your job that they need to create the project in their portal. In addition to that, the Contractor should have the supplier reach out to alex.richardson@haulhub.com to get onboarded to Haulhub’s supplier system (if not already onboarded). All projects must be using Haulhub to track material tickets.

REMINDER: Please reach out to the e-construction support email (econ@qrse.com) if live onboarding training is needed for a specific project.

3.     Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Updates

  • Updates From September 2025
    • Build
      • ACC Mobile App | Project Home Shortcuts on Mobile Public Beta – ACC Mobile users can quickly access saved workflows from Project Home. Learn more
      • Autodesk Assistant | New Button Location – Autodesk Assistant can be accessed directly from the top ribbon—just click the Assistant icon to launch it. Additionally, the conversation is persistent, allowing you to navigate between different ACC tools while continuing the conversation where you left off.
    • Docs
      • Files | Set Custom Attributes as Required — Members with Manage permission and project administrators can now set custom attributes as required for selected folders. This means that files require attribute values which conform with their attribute settings before they can be uploaded to those folders. This helps teams maintain consistent metadata and improve document control.
      • Files | New Layout of the Project Settings — Files settings now feature a reorganized tab structure to make it easier for teams to find and manage settings across projects and templates.
      • Packages | Add References from a Package – Package managers can now link packages directly to Issues, RFIs, Forms, Assets, Submittals, Plan Tasks, Schedule Activities, PCOs, and other file packages to improve visibility across workflows.
    • Insight
      • Insight Builder | Share Dashboards with Projects – Teams can now use Insight Builder to add custom dashboards directly to the project home page. Administrators can quickly create role-based dashboard templates to support data standardization. This feature is available to customers with EBA or Value-Based agreements. Learn more.

This is just a small selection of the recent updates to ACC. For a full list of recent updates to ACC and other resources, visit the official help website.

Additionally, a new best practice guide is available for tracking potential claims through ACC Issues. Engineers and Construction Managers should click here for more details, including an office hours recording and detailed instructions.

5.     HeadLight Updates

No Cost Change Orders – We have updated the Change Order form to allow no-cost change orders to be processed in HeadLight. Some users had previously had to perform a work around to finalize these change orders, but you should now be able to submit and approve a change order regardless of what changes or additions are made to the contract.

Progress Payment – Pay Item Participation Recognition – We have updated the Progress Payment form to automatically recognize from the contract if a Pay Item is participating or non-participating. You will still have the ability to manually override the default value, if needed. The Materials on Hand section should also recognize this status as well. If you notice this is not working appropriately on your project, please contact support@headlight.com, as we may need to update some of your contract information.

Progress Payment – Materials on Hand Automation – We have made an update to Materials on Hand so that the form will show what materials have been stockpiled in previous payments and to calculated what that total quantity, cost, and cost per unit are for the total stockpile.  Materials on hand will need to be recorded on the Work Item spreadsheet and tagged with “Materials on Hand” and then within the form you’ll be able to see the contract Item Cost and can manually put in a different unit cost, as needed. The Materials on Hand section of the form will show you the previously recorded MOH along with new ones you are adding and calculating what the total quantity, cost, and cost per unit are.

We are doing final testing on these features and they will likely be activated on your projects soon.

Progress Payments – State Funded Retention Automation – For projects that are entirely state funded, we have added automations for retention in the Progress Payments. It will automatically retain 5% of the grand total of the payment up to 50% of the total contract value, at which point the automatic retention will stop.
